Kent grew up in the Chicago area and became actively involved in the ministry of Lake Geneva Youth Camp - first as a camper and then later serving on staff for many summers. After spending two years at Emmaus Bible College, Kent transferred to Wheaton College and graduated with a degree in Business and Economics. It was at Emmaus where Kent met his future bride-to-be, Kim King. Kim grew up in the Nashville area and, like Kent, was involved in camp ministry from an early age - as a camper and staff member at Horton Haven. Kent and Kim married in 2003 and lived in Nashville for 7 years, serving together at their local church and here at HHCC. Kim taught first grade until the birth of their first child in 2006. They now have two boys - Bryce and Logan. In 2015 they relocated to the Tampa, FL area for Kent's job but remain actively involved in the ministry at camp, continuing to direct a week of junior camp each summer. Kent and Kim attend Carrollwood Bible Church.
