Daniel H. Smith is presently Chancellor at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque Iowa. Dan grew up on a farm in Missouri; did military service (USMC) in the early 1950's.
Dan has worked as teaching faculty and in several administrative positions (including President for 25 years) at Emmaus Bible College for more than 50 years. He has served in pastoral work as an elder in two churches, one in Chicago and one in Dubuque, for 40 years. His ministries include youth work, Church and Conference preaching, Biblical Counseling, consultation in Pastoral Theology, and Life Coaching. He has written and published numerous periodical articles and has published two books; God's Blueprint forYour Marriage, ECS Press; How to Lead a Child to Christ, Moody Press. He also has CPI, CPR and First Aid Training. He currently serves the community where he lives in Dubuque, Iowa, as a law enforcement chaplain.
Dan is a family man; he and his wife, Martha, have three adult children and eight grandchildren.
Arthur & Lois Manning
Arthur and Lois Manning reside in Dubuque, IA, along with their 4 children. Arthur has been teaching in the Computer Information Systems department at Emmaus Bible College since 2001. Lois has loads of fun craft activities for all ages. Each craft is designed to go along with the lessons that Arthur teaches often using cartoon illustrations, songs, or skit dramatizations to bring home the message of who God is and what He has for us to learn from His Word.
Justin & Claire Phelan
Justin Phelan was born and raised in Nashville Tennessee where he attended the Gospel Chapel. Justin grew up at Horton Haven as a camper and then staff and then served on CORE Staff for four years. He and Claire meet at Horton Haven and got married there on October 27th, 2007. Justin graduated from Emmaus Bible College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies and Computer Systems Management. In 2003 he and two friends from Emmaus started Blackwood Media Group, a web design company that serves churches, Christian organizations and commercial buisnesses. Justin has worked with youth for a number of years and has served at a number of camps through out the US both in teaching and leadership roles. Justin and Claire live in Columbia, TN where they are active members of their local church. Justin and Claire have two kids, Della (4) and John born in August of 2014.
Matt serves as the Executive Director of Horton Haven Christian Camp. His involvement with the camp goes back 1976 while serving as a counselor during college. After spending 18 years working in computer technology he came to the camp full time in 1995. He is involved year round in day-to-day operations of camp ministry. He also is an Elder and shares in teaching responsibilities at the Nashville Gospel Chapel in Nashville. Matt and his wife Wendy make their home near the camp. They have three grown children, Justin (married to Claire), Holly (married to Darin Cavallo) and Nathan (married to Gisel) and three grandchildren,Della, John, and Willow. In his spare time Matt enjoys backpacking and riding his motorcycle.
